Sweating in the sun while high up on a ladder isn’t much fun, but the house is looking a lot nicer! The colour I chose while being a little experimental is working out really well. Me gusta mucho!

Here’s the perch about halfway across the front… I still have to remove the old gutter (replacing it with a suitable rainwater collection gutter later). That will have me really high up on the ladder.

A lot of work left to do…

The upper deck is looking really nice.

The ranch house hasn’t been painted since ‘97, that’s a long time to be out in the scorching Texas sun and it shows. After power washing off the old paint flakes I’m starting to repaint… I’m changing the colours too. The old scheme didn’t show any contrast, it was sand (the same colour as the limestone rock that composes most of the house) and a contrasting slightly darker sand colour… blah.

So I’m spicing it up by using Navajo Red trim… hope it looks nice, here are some snaps of the start…
